ENHANCE YOUR SMILE AND GAIN ORAL FUNCTIONALITY WITH DENTAL BRIDGES

If you have lost a tooth, you might think you are out of the woods. After all, with the tooth gone, you don’t have to think about it anymore. Unfortunately, a lost tooth is the beginning of other oral challenges. Chewing becomes difficult, pronouncing certain words becomes challenging, and your overall oral hygiene deteriorates with time. Luckily, you can fill up the spaces in your mouth with dental bridges from Simply Smiles. All you need to do is book a consultation with Drs. Kira Gekht and Jade Rivera.

What are Dental Bridges?

When a patient isn’t missing all or several teeth to warrant dentures, bridges can be used to fill up the gap. As the name suggests, dental bridges are used to “bridge” the gap between two natural teeth. A dental bridge consists of one or several artificial teeth anchored by a crown supported by the remaining natural teeth.

A dental bridge can fix one lost tooth but is commonly used when missing two, three, or more teeth. However, the more missing teeth you have, the more crowns you need, affecting the bridge’s stability. However, in such cases, your dentist may use implants to secure your bridge in place.

What to expect during installation

After Drs. Gekht and Rivera determine that they can replace your lost teeth with a dental bridge. The next step is to prepare the abutments anchoring your bridge. This process is done under anesthesia so you can rule out any pain or discomfort. After prepping your teeth, we take your bite impressions and send the images to a dental lab to create your dental bridge.

After your bridge is ready, you will come to our office for installation. For comfort, we will make any adjustments before we cement your bridges in place.

A bridge is a non-surgical way to replace one or many teeth. A bridge uses the adjacent teeth as anchors to support the missing tooth or teeth. With today’s dental advancements, a bridge can be fabricated in a fairly short period of time, using a metal or nonmetal foundation. Don’t let that missing tooth affect the way you speak, eat, and smile. Bridges yield immediate results that last a lifetime. Ask your dentist what type of bridge may be right for you.

Service FAQ

A dental bridge is just that – it bridges the gap between teeth. It is a popular tooth replacement option for missing teeth that consists of artificial teeth (called pontics) that rest on a framework with dental crowns on either end, used to anchor it in place over your natural teeth.

You can expect your dental bridge to last between 10-15 years. Proper brushing and flossing and avoiding bad habits that could break the bridge are all important if you want it to last as long as it should.

If you have healthy teeth and gums but are missing one or more teeth, creating a gap in your smile, you are a perfect candidate for a dental bridge. You may visit our office for a consultation and examination to ensure your candidacy.

While it will take multiple dental appointments, getting a dental bridge is not at all difficult. The first appointment will involve preparing your teeth for the dental bridge. Your dental bridge will then need to be crafted at a lab. This can take a few weeks. Your bridge will then be ready to be placed in your mouth when you return for your second appointment.
